An extraordinary garden
Despite today’s diversification, the city is still the capital of the artichoke with a national market share of 70% (90% for cauliflowers).
In addition to this vegetable products, Saint Pol de Léon has become one of the first horticulture area in France producing each year, 30 millions of cut flowers, 3 millions of grown seeds, 3 millions of pot plants.
All steps of the agricultural activity are present in the area. More than 100 farms benefits from the exceptional climate and network of professionals to bring the fresh product to the consumer table.
Phytopole
The Léonard people, dynamic and entrepeneurial, are organised as a network of economic committees and cooperatives to respond to market constant evolving demand.
The local grower has access to all services necessary to develop his products : ranging from research to commercialisation, and including development, training, marketing, packaging ans dispatching.
Traceability, food safety, respect to environment, adaptation of products to markets, are all challenges that the companies forming "Phytopôle Bretagne" have taken up with the common objective to offer consumers the vegetables and ornamentals plants they expect.
